Privacy Policy — The Astro Nova

The Astro Nova ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Data we collect

• Account info: name, email, encrypted user ID (via Clerk).
• Birth chart inputs: birth date, birth time, birth location — used only to compute your Vedic astrological chart.
• Purchase history: subscription tier & renewal status (via Google Play Billing & RevenueCat).
• AI chat messages: stored to provide context across sessions; never used for model training.
• Voice transcriptions: audio is sent to OpenAI Whisper, transcribed, then immediately discarded.
• Analytics & crash data: anonymized app-interaction events (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry).
• Push token: an Expo-issued device token used solely to deliver opted-in notifications.

2. Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, files, calendar, health/fitness data, or browsing history.

3. How we use your data

• Provide the core app functionality (chart computation, daily horoscopes, AI guidance).
• Personalize content (your AI persona memory, your saved kundli).
• Manage your account & subscription.
• Improve reliability via anonymized analytics & crash reports.

4. Third-party processors

We share necessary data with service providers acting on our behalf: Clerk (authentication), Anthropic (AI chat completion), OpenAI (voice transcription), RevenueCat & Google Play Billing (subscriptions), Sentry (crash reports), PostHog (analytics), Neon (database hosting), Cloudflare (API hosting). Each is bound by their own GDPR/DPDP-compliant data-processing agreement.

5. Data retention & deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data:

• In-app: Settings → Delete Account (type "DELETE" to confirm).
• Web: /delete-account.

After a 30-day soft-delete window (so you can reverse the request), all personally identifiable data is hard-deleted by an automated daily 02:00 UTC purge job.

6. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS 1.2+) and at rest. We follow industry-standard practices for secret rotation, access controls, and dependency monitoring.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time. EU users have GDPR rights; Indian users have DPDP Act rights. Contact privacy@runaiintelligence.com for any request.

8. Children

The Astro Nova is rated 18+ and is not directed at children under 18.

9. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
